Which addons work in WoW Forever?
These addons have files their authors label for the WoW Forever client (1.60.1). We checked the project pages on September 29, 2026; we have not tested every feature ourselves.

Questie or ForeverQuest?
Questie is the quest helper most Classic players already know. Its maintainers added Forever support themselves in 12.0.1, and 12.0.2 fixed tracker crashes and auto-accepting unknown quests. Because Forever has more than a thousand new quests, expect some new ones to be missing from its database at first.
ForeverQuest was written for Forever from the start. It is younger and smaller, but it is not a port of Questie, so you can switch between the two if one handles a zone better. Do not run both at once: two quest helpers fighting over the same tracker is a common source of errors.
If you find a Questie download that calls itself a “Forever edition” from someone other than the Questie team, skip it and use the official project.
How to install addons for Forever
- Close the game.
- In Battle.net, select World of Warcraft, choose the Forever entry in the Game Version menu, then open the gear menu next to Play and choose Show in Explorer (Windows) or Show in Finder (Mac).
- Open the Forever client folder and then Interface › AddOns. Create the AddOns folder if it does not exist.
- Download the file marked for WoW Forever (game version 1.60.x) and unzip it there. Each addon should be its own folder directly inside AddOns, with no extra folder level.
- Start the game, click AddOns on the character screen and check the addon is listed and enabled.
Addon managers such as CurseForge work too, but check they detected the Forever installation and not Retail or Classic Era before you update.
Built-in features you may not need an addon for
The September 24 beta notes describe a built-in Cooldown Manager with limited class and spell support during testing, and gamepad controls are supported officially. Try the built-in options first; the fewer addons you run, the easier problems are to trace.
An addon broke something. What now?
Turn off all addons and repeat what you were doing. If the problem goes away, turn addons back on a few at a time until it returns. If it stays with everything off, the addon was not the cause: check WoW Forever won’t launch or the low FPS fixes. Report addon bugs to the author with the addon version, the game build and the exact error text.
