Camping turns the Cooking Fire into a Basic Campfire that creates a campsite. Up to three nearby players each add one crafted object, and each profession gives its own buff or workspace for one hour. The client has 38 campsite objects: one per profession at skill 20, and 25 more from Blueprint recipes that drop from dungeon bosses.
How a campsite works
- A Cook places a campfire. That creates a campsite where players can rest and use vendors, repairs, profession workspaces and one-hour buffs.
- Nearby players add crafted objects: up to three on a Basic Campfire, one per player. Every profession gives its own buff or utility, whichever of its objects is placed.
- Sit by the fire for a few moments and get rested to receive the buffs. It is also where you refresh food buffs.
- Objects share a one-hour cooldown, so plan who contributes what.
Blizzard's examples: a Blacksmith's Sharpening Wheel increases Attack Power, a Tailor's Faction Banner increases Spirit and a Herbalist's Incense Candle increases Intellect. Leatherworkers need a Tanning Rack for their more advanced recipes. Campsite buffs do not stack with the class buffs they mirror.

Choosing a campsite
Blizzard warns that some parts of Azeroth are better suited to a quiet rest than others: a campfire in a contested zone on a PvP ruleset is an easy target. Camp where your group already stops — outside a dungeon entrance, at a flight point or in a quest hub — and bring the materials for your profession's object. Pick professions with the profession guide, check the ruleset rules before camping in contested zones and find dungeon bosses that may drop Blueprints on the dungeon list.
Camping FAQ
How do you make a campfire in WoW Forever?
Basic Campfire is a Cooking recipe (skill 1 in the client) made from Simple Wood. Cooks can later learn Journeyman Campfire (skill 90) and Expert Campfire (skill 200) from Blueprints; Blizzard says upgraded campfires hold five or 10 objects.
How many objects can a campsite have?
A Basic Campfire accepts up to three objects. Each player can contribute one object, and those objects share a one-hour cooldown.
Do campsite buffs stack with class buffs?
No. Blizzard says campsite effects are variants of buffs that specific classes provide and do not stack with them.
Where do Blueprints come from?
Blizzard says advanced campsite objects come from Blueprint recipes that drop from specific dungeon bosses. Which boss drops which Blueprint is server data; we will list it once tested.
